Mrs. Curtis

Red Glass Tumbling Apple

Hello, and welcome to second grade. My name is Kristin Curtis. I have been teaching for 10 years. I graduated from UNI in 1998 with a BA in Elementary Education, a minor in mathematics, and a coaching endorsement. After college I took a job as the Director of Education at Sylvan Learning Center in Cedar Rapids. Then moved to the Cedar Valley in 1999 and went back to the classroom to substitute in the area. That is when I fell in love with the Denver Community Schools. The 2000-2001 school year I was the reading specialist here at Denver, while finishing my reading endorsement at UNI. The following year I transfered into second grade, and have been there since.I have been married for 10 years to Dennis Curtis. He is an Employee Benefits Consultant at PIPAC in Cedar Falls. Our son, William, is 5 and in Kindergarten here in the K-2 building. Our daughter, Anna, is 3, and she is starting preschool in the Discoveries program. The four of us live in Denver with our toe dogs, JO and Lilly.  We enjoy spending time outdoors, boating, and golfing.

Who says teachers don't know how to have a good time?
Mrs. Sexton (3rd grade), Mrs. Downs (Music), myself, Ms. Victoria (Art), and Mrs. Cashman (1st grade) found a little humor on our lunch break on Monday, October 13th during an all day in-service at NU High!
